Location: Oldham, Greater Manchester

Profile: 1963. I was 7. Leicester City lost the Cup Final. I cried. Wes Hall and Charlie Griffith bowled very fast. I was inspired.

At 11, a boy possesed, I scored goals and took wickets.

By 15, still obsessed, I had played for the county at cricket and the district at football.

By 18, after captaining all the school teams, I went off to Liverpool University. More football, cricket and captaincy (and just a bit of History and Politics too).

In my 20's, I played football for Winchmore Hill (SAL) and Burgess Hill Town (Sussex County League). In cricket, I played for Finchley C.C. (Middlesex League).

After 12 years turning myself into a blue suited clone, I turned my back on corporate marketing and became a tennis coach; taught many, many kids. Then my knees went. Agh!

My sport connection is now online as I buy/sell memorabilia (http://stores.ebay.co.uk/GoalsandWickets), write my blog (see homepage above) and make daft contribution's on here.

I may play again (doubtful), but if not, there's always the most boring sport on the planet - the exercise bike in the gym - will it ever become an Olympic sport?. Also, I've been lucky, I have fantastic memories in sport and I can still enjoy it, just in different ways now.
